What it is
Craft 1 rope + 4 short sticks, then deploy the kit as the frame for any shelter. Add 4 long sticks, then choose 50 short sticks, 4 tarps, or 8 tanned leather for the cover.

Choose a part, set the count, and check the materials.Build for the run you have
Start with hidden storage before building a fence. A crate is cheap and movable. Build a gate only when you can maintain the tools, repair supplies, and raid risk that come with it. Set the calculator to the structure you expect to finish, then gather the materials before placing a kit.

Can it go indoors?
Indoor placement is preview-dependent. Vanilla requires level ground; use the kit ghost to check the building has enough clear footprint and headroom before gathering materials.
STORAGE
Know the tradeoff
Crate: 50 slots, buriable, 45 days above ground. Shelter: 100 slots, temporary, 7 days. Shelters must be empty to pack up and do not return every material.
DON'T LOSE THE RUN
Four things to remember
Fence direction Place the construction side inside before attaching logs. The wrong direction can expose dismantle actions.
Gate or platform A fence cannot have both. Convert it to a gate with wire and pliers before making a platform.
Bring repairs An axe, saw, digging tool, hammer, and pliers wear down. Pack a sharpening stone or spare.
Flagpole is not security A raised flag refreshes eligible stored items within 60 m. It does not prevent raids.
